February 20, 2013: Day 6 and final.
Yesterday the edge coating that I have been waiting for finally arrived and I was able to complete the final touches.
Here are two pics of the finished edges and the stainless rings used to attach the shoulder strap…Now, I just have to present it to Amelia for her final approval 😀
Just a brief recap of the case…I hope someone enjoyed this as much as I did…Thanks to all who view and comment on this project…named…GYRO…
It is beautiful…and I know I will enjoy it for a long time. Thank you very much for all the hard work and long hours of working on it. 😀
Thank you baby. I’m really glad you like it 😀
Nicely done. Would you mind telling what weight of leather you used? I’m looking at making one and trying to figure out how heavy the hide should be.
Thank you for the compliment! I used 7 – 9 ounce veg tanned leather for the body and I think 2 – 3 for the inner sleeve. Having said that, I believe a light weight leather for the body would work out just as well. The decorative flap (my wife wanted that) is made from a buttery soft lamb skin.
